My Grandfather died right when I started college and I inherited a few cameras. I fell in love with the Minolta X-700 and the Prime kit that my Grandfather had accumulated and I've spent the last six years developing my eye.
My home turf has been 35mm, mostly because of the family heritage, but I do also shoot digital. On commission I've regularly shot with a variety of Nikons; my personal kit is a Sony A7sii.
That's me on the left, by the way. Ain't a new camera until you've taken a picture of yourself.
My film experience has given me an ethos to shooting: try not to take the same picture twice. Honestly, try to take a picture that hasn't been taken yet. I like to shoot in a spontaneous style, working on location and using the natural light. I like experimental film stocks and filters and making really extreme color choices in post production. And I also like working to the strengths of my gear; some cameras want to take a specific picture and I'm happy to oblige them.
This has led to a very eclectic portfolio. There's some modeling work and some architecture and landscape photography, some street photography, a lot of personal photography with more effort put into it than most people would, and also sometimes I like it when your eyes bleed. COME WITH ME! Come with me on my ~JOURNEY~ into photography. You're about to enter a world of sight and mind and doors and stuff. It'll be MaGiCaL!
I also write essays and scripts sometimes but that's not important right now.
